A newly released video captures FATES WARNING vocalist Ray Alder and guitarist Jim Matheos performing an acoustic rendition of “Under The Sun,” a track originally featured on the band’s “Long Day Good Night” album.

Alder commented:  ”Hey, everybody. So I’m here with Jim, and we’re doing some videos and some press for the upcoming release for NORTH SEA ECHOES album, which is out this summer. And we were just messing around, and we thought since we never had the opportunity to play anything live from ‘Long Day Good Night’, we thought maybe we’d play a song for you. And I guess it’s sort of live. So this is ‘Under the Sun’.”

Hard rock outfit A-Z is set to release its sophomore album, “A2Z²”, on June 6 via Metal Blade Records. Led by legendary drummer Mark Zonder (FATES WARNING, WARLORD) and featuring his former FATES WARNING bandmate Ray Alder on vocals, “A2Z²” expands upon the strong foundation established by their well-received self-titled debut in 2022.

The second single from “A2Z²” is a a song called “I Am Numb”.

“I Am Numb” is an aggressive, in-your-face exploration of the emotional detachment most humans experience in life. The somber moniker is highlighted with an undeniable chorus hook and is balanced with hope and the promise tomorrow holds. Sonically, the track features energy like RAINBOW’s “Kill The King” with full-throttle riffs and post-rock effected long notes, which allow the drums to be exceptionally creative. The counter rhythms bring the listener on a whirlwind journey.
