The new album by Clairvoyant, “Eternal Victory”, stands as one of the strongest Greek heavy/power metal releases of recent years. The band remains faithful to the epic character that defines its sound, blending traditional heavy metal with melodic power metal elements and a strong neoclassical flair. From the very first moments, the album radiates confidence and a genuine passion for the classic sound of the 1980s, yet it never feels outdated. The guitars are a major highlight, driven by melodic riffs and well-crafted solos, while the rhythm section consistently provides the necessary power and momentum. The band’s new vocalist brings fresh energy to the music, delivering performances that strike a perfect balance between power and theatricality, fitting the epic nature of the compositions exceptionally well. The choruses are memorable and instantly engaging, and several moments throughout the album create a true sense of grandeur. Although there are a few instances where the pacing and song structures become somewhat repetitive, the overall result remains highly impressive. “Eternal Victory” presents a mature band with a clear identity and a high level of musicianship, fully capable of standing alongside many established European metal acts. Compared to Clairvoyant’s previous releases, “Eternal Victory” sounds more mature, more refined in its songwriting, and significantly grander in terms of production. While their earlier albums—especially “The Last Marks of Prophecy”—possessed a rawer and more underground character, this new effort showcases a band with greater confidence and a more focused direction toward an epic power metal sound. The older releases relied more heavily on atmosphere and classic heavy metal sensibilities, often evoking the spirit of old-school European metal from the 1990s. On the new album, however, the compositions feel fuller and more complete, featuring stronger arrangements, more powerful choruses, and a noticeably more epic approach. The production is cleaner and allows the guitars and melodies to shine while preserving the band’s traditional aesthetic. The addition of the new vocalist also brings a different dynamic to the band. The vocal lines are more theatrical and melodic than in the past, giving the album a more distinctly European character and making it feel less underground than its predecessors.
