The 69 Eyes return to the spotlight with the release of the “I Survive” EP, which features three brand-new tracks alongside a cover of Thin Lizzy’s classic “Cold Sweat”. Overall, this is a very strong release that once again highlights the quality of the Finnish glam/gothic rockers, even here in 2026. The EP opens with the title track, “I Survive”, a song firmly rooted in the band’s familiar and classic goth ’n’ roll style. It proves that The 69 Eyes are still bursting with creative energy, with their songwriting imagination very much alive. The track also features guest guitar work from Steve Stevens, best known as Billy Idol’s longtime guitarist, making it essential listening for gothic rock fans. Next comes their take on “Cold Sweat”, where The 69 Eyes give everything they’ve got. They remain faithful to the melodic hard rock spirit of Phil Lynott and company, while naturally filtering the track through their own darker sonic identity. Then comes “In The Misery”, my personal favorite of the three new songs on the EP, thanks to its irresistibly catchy melodic lines and rich guitar work. As for the fourth and final track, “Devil’s Rose”, it stays within the framework of The 69 Eyes’ signature sound, though it didn’t impress me quite as much. That said, the appearance of Ed Mundell — formerly of Monster Magnet — adds another notable touch and makes the EP even more interesting. In the end, the “I Survive” EP proves that The 69 Eyes are doing far more than simply surviving — they are still confidently and wisely showing exactly what they are capable of.

Biohazard are a band everyone knows, even if they’ve never listened to them, but this new album is unmistakably for the fans, for those who truly understand what the band represents. New fans are of course welcome too, but with the band’s own terms. What you get is exactly what they set out to do: stick to what comes naturally, boldly “be” Biohazard. The result is solid, convincing, and unapologetically authentic. Τhey didn’t chase trends here, however while rooted in their classic sound, the album holds its own without hesitation against contemporary standards. Musically, the album recalls the structure and flow of “Urban Discipline”, arguably their most iconic release. The groove is heavier and more immediate than their last record, forming a foundation that feels both classic and fresh. Evan Seinfeld’s vocals are technically different yet perfectly suited, occasionally throwing in that grittier old-school snarl, especially on tracks like “Death of Me”. Danny Schuler remains one of the genre’s top drummers, “leaner” here, but no less powerful, keeping every beat tight and punchy. Danny’s lead guitar continues to enrich the record, weaving in his classic rock’n’roll flair, bluesy licks, and metallic solos that seamlessly lift each track, reminding listeners why his touch has always been central to Biohazard’s identity and of course the “soul” of Bio, Billy, who effortlessly throws down big, fat, angry riffs – and vocals – locking with the driving bass to create a driving backbone, while subtle nods to bands influenced by Biohazard emphasize the timelessness and reach of their music. Song titles, heavy grooves, and arrangements all feel so right, with tracks like: “Fuck the System”, “Eyes on Six, “Forsaken”, “War Inside Me”, “S.I.T.F.O.A.”, all built for the stage, convincingly taking you directly to their legendary live shows. This is the new album by a band aware of its legacy but still capable of delivering with conviction. It’s not revolutionary, and it doesn’t need to be, what it is, is a reaffirmation of Biohazard’s identity: heavy, groovy, unpretentious, and unmistakably alive. For fans of their golden ’90s run, this album feels like a long-awaited continuation. Biohazard didn’t overreach, they returned on their own terms, and it pays off, giving listeners exactly what they hoped for: A solid, hard-hitting statement of identity that still resonates decades later.

It begins with a riff — sharp, mean, and unmistakably Megadeth. Then the whole band jumps into the ring, a technical guitar lick cuts through the mix, and suddenly a breakneck chase begins. Mustaine sounds fierce, channeling the venom and energy of his early days, while the song crashes into a classic Megadeth-style refrain. The solos blaze in and out, some spoken-word lines creep through the chaos, and then the chorus hits again — pure, unmistakable thrash metal adrenaline. That’s “Tipping Point”, the new single from Megadeth’s upcoming and reportedly final album — and it’s everything you’d expect from a band that defined speed, precision, and defiance. This is a thrash metal assault, built to make you bang your head and shred the air guitar like it’s 1986 all over again. If you were hoping for a dramatic stylistic change, you might walk away disappointed. But if you wanted a no-nonsense, full-throttle Megadeth experience, you’ll be more than satisfied. Mustaine sounds in fine form, the band around him is razor-sharp and utterly devoted to his vision, and together they deliver exactly what fans crave: technical firepower, attitude, and pure thrash intensity. Let’s hope the rest of the upcoming album follows this path — because if “Tipping Point” is any indication, Megadeth’s farewell might just be the ultimate parting gift to their loyal fans. This first single feels like the spark of something powerful — the beginning of the end, perhaps, but one that promises to go out in flames.
