TWILIGHT FORCE – “AT THE HEART OF WINTERVALE” (2023, NUCLEAR BLAST)

Are you a fantasy art lover? Do you read fantasy books and watch fantasy movies? Do you play RPGs? Do you like epic heavy metal and die for heroic metal anthems with lyrics about knights and dragons? If yes, Twilight Force and their fourth album, “At the Heart of Wintervale”, are here for you! Indeed, the ones who like cinematic, symphonic power metal must listen to this exceptional metal album! We are talking about a power metal album of epic proportions, a real masterpiece of fantasy art! This Swedish band has managed to create a grand opus, somewhere between heavy metal and classical music, a music tale, so pompous, so hymnal, so lyrical and dramatic! The shocking is that Twilight Force composed songs, which have a heavy metal character, but, at the same time, could be awesome classical symphonies. Yes, the guys have the excellent musicianship, the phenomenal inspiration to make a multidimensional music album, which has unbelievable arrangements, complex structures and lush instrumentation. I am speechless, I just can’t help listening to this stunning metal band and this elegant orchestra. This is a concerto for group and orchestra, which sounds modern, never clichéd, always delicate. Of course, you will listen to a superb guitar work, galloping double bass drumming and high pitched vocals in power metal songs, which owe so much to Helloween, Gamma Ray, Blind Guardian, Stratovarius and Rhapsody. You have everything here, there can be no complaints, just congratulations for this extraordinary, beyond beautiful sonic thunderstorm. Twilight Force delivered an unspeakably great album – I am already looking forward to the next one!
