On “Social Apocalypse”, guitarist and vocalist Matt Tuck takes aim at “the end of the world as we know it,” as “all hope has faded”. The track is accompanied by an official music video directed, filmed and edited by Chris Wade of Dogbrain Videos, which can be watched below.

Lyrically, “Social Apocalypse” blends raw introspection from people worn down by the modern world with clear-eyed observations of a planet that seems to be spiraling further out of control at every turn.

“Everything in life is changing at such a rapid pace, and it is hard to find a great deal of positivity when you look at events in the world,” Tuck says. “People are being pitted against each other. The world is full of conflict instead of unity. As a father, I look at what the world is like for younger people, and how completely different it is now”.

Once again teaming up with producer Carl Bown, who has worked on four BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE albums as well as with SLEEP TOKEN, WHILE SHE SLEEPS, MALEVOLENCE and others, the band carefully crafted, examined and refined every new track until it reached its final polished form.

“Carl doesn’t let you settle,” Tuck notes. “He is always ready to speak up, push and challenge you to be the best version of you.”

“Social Apocalypse” features two collaborations, something relatively unusual for BULLET FOR MY VALENTINE, adding exciting new dimensions to the album. AGAINST THE CURRENT vocalist Chrissy Costanza joins the band for a duet on “In The Absence Of You”, while LORNA SHORE frontman Will Ramos delivers a fierce guest vocal performance on “I Don’t Trust Tomorrow”.

Throughout their 35-year career and 17-album discography, the Norwegian pioneers have consistently pushed the boundaries of progressive black metal, blending Old Norse history and ancient traditions with intricate, modern soundscapes. With their latest release, ENSLAVED explore the fundamental concept of the axis — the middle, the origin, and the infinite possibilities contained within the present moment.

Following the momentum of their recent tracks “Solar Will” and “Spirit Helper”, featuring Kevin Kicking Woman, the band have now unveiled another captivating single from the album, “Tales Of Trees”. The song draws inspiration from the beauty and fragility of the natural world, using them as a reflection of the human condition. Combining intricate progressive structures with a searing black metal atmosphere, ENSLAVED create a powerful connection between Mother Nature and the human psyche.

Grutle Kjellson states: “‘Tales Of Trees’ is indeed tales about trees, but perhaps not first and foremost in a botanical sense. Trees can grow, shine, and flourish, but they can also wither and burn. They need to be tended to and looked after in one way or another, and thus serve as a fitting parallel to the human mind, let alone humanity as a whole. Trees as symbols of something more than mere botanical creatures have appeared throughout history, both in mythological tales and in folklore. So, I think this tale is a fitting accompaniment the the heavy and yet dynamic tunes of this composition”.

Ivar Bjørnson adds: “‘Tales Of Trees’ can be both a tribute to our wooden relatives on this planet — who have had rather a lot of patience with us — and a metaphor for so much more. The winding time signatures of folk music and the adventurous spirit of classic prog are natural ingredients in my songwriting, and they feel particularly at home here. There is something about our kinship with trees that is both deeply familiar and wonderfully strange: everyday encounters with something we barely understand. That sense of recognition and mystery is at the heart of this song, opening another path into the world of ‘Mið'”.

To mark the release of “Mið”, ENSLAVED will embark on a European tour in February 2027, co-headlining the trek with Icelandic post-metal outfit SÓLSTAFIR, while Norway’s GAAHLS WYRD will join the lineup as special guests.

ENSLAVED commented: “Europe! In February we are heading out on a co-headlining tour with our good friends in SÓLSTAFIR. There is a kinship here that goes beyond a shared enthusiasm for questionable weather: the belief that music should be allowed to find its own path, even when it refuses to explain where it is going. Bringing ‘Mið’ into that company, and into a room with all of you, feels very right. Anderson reportedly returned to Australia to receive treatment, but sadly succumbed to the effects of the cardiac arrest.

“It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Gary ‘Angry’ Anderson on the eve of Monday 21 September 2026, surrounded by his loved ones here in Australia,” a representative shared in a statement posted on the ROSE TATTOO social media channels.

“Angry was a devoted father, and much-loved member of his friends, bandmates and the wider music and entertainment community. His loss will be deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him both here in Australia and overseas.

“The family and band members are asking for privacy at this difficult time and will not be giving interviews.

“We kindly ask that their wishes are respected as they come to terms with this devastating loss and take time they need to grieve.

“We thank everyone for their prays and messages of love and continued support. With love, The Anderson family and ROSE TATTOO Band.”

When Angry was hospitalized, ROSE TATTOO still had nine dates left on their “One Last Ride” farewell tour, which was scheduled to wrap up on August 21 in Busdorf, Germany.

ROSE TATTOO were also scheduled to perform a series of farewell shows across Australia in September, with dates planned in Melbourne, Sydney, Perth, Adelaide and Brisbane.

First of all, congratulations on the new single! How has the response to “Children of The Ruins” been so far? Why did you choose “Children of The Ruins” as the first single from the new album?

Reactions have been really good so far. “Children of the Ruins” is the first song of the album and helps set the tone for the whole story so we thought it was a good choice of an introduction for the public.

Your upcoming new album, “Chantry of Sacrifice”, is a concept one. Why did you decide to release a concept album now? What’s the concept story about? What inspired this concept? Was it difficult to write a full science fiction concept album?

It surely was a bold choice so early in the band’s career but we were inspired, so why not? The story takes the listener in an apocalyptic future, in the year 5051 where the earth is gone and Hÿldr, who is both the hero of the story and the mascot of the band has to travel through time for the sake of humanity. Max (our guitar player) came with the whole scenario and I elaborated on the emotional side of the story, I know he likes some sci-fi video games so some of his inspiration might come from there. Difficult, not really. Max and myself were inspired and the ideas came pretty easily.

How do you balance storytelling with writing memorable songs?

You got to find a way to make it not too descriptive and write mainly from a first-person perspective. At least that is how I do it. Also, I took some time in my writing, trying to incorporate a poetic approach to the story and yet make sure words kind of rhyme all the while being careful with my melodies and hooks.

How has Crystal Throne evolved since your debut album?

We matured a lot and found ourselves a whole lot more between the 2 releases. We pushed the boundaries of both musical technicality and melody. This album was thought out a whole lot more than the first one and it shows greatly. The production is also a huge step up. We also moved away a little bit from the straight forward heroic themes to still keep that spirit but with a sense of drama on this concept album.

Which bands had the biggest influence on the sound of Crystal Throne?

There are many from Fates Warning to Savatage, Queensrÿche, Yngwie Malmsteen, Symphony X, Saxon, Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Crimson Glory and many others.

The album combines classic heavy metal with power metal and progressive metal elements. How would you describe your sound with your own words?

I think you did a good job! Haha! Hard to put a tag to our music but your description is fine as we take   influences from all of those styles.

Which song on the album surprised you the most, while composing or recording it?

I think that the last one “Sleeping in the Void” is the most “out there”, it is very different from anything we did prior to this one. A very dark, slow and theatrical song that will probably surprise everyone. But there are many surprises in this album and Max has expanded his songwriting way beyond the limits of traditional heavy metal.

Tell us about the songwriting process. Does everyone contribute ideas?

First, Max writes the instrumentals, then I come with the vocal melodies, harmonies and lyrics. Then John writes his own solos too later.

When and where was the new album recorded? Who did the production, the mixing and mastering?

We recorded it at home. Max took the needed time for that over stretched periods of time sometime between 2022 and 2023 if I remember correctly. We then both isolated ourselves in a countryside house where I did my vocal demos in 6 days and we then re-recorded them clean in a treated room. Then everything was sent to the mixing/mastering to Flavien Morel.

Is this new album self-released? If yes, why is that?

It is. Nowadays a lot of bands work this way so why wait for a label that never comes with a good offer?

Let’s talk about the album cover! Who designed it? How is it connected with the album’s concept?

It was done by Zsofia Dankova who worked for many other bands such as Powerwolf, Michael Schenker etc. The artwork depicts our mascot Hÿldr who also happens to be the main protagonist of the story in Chantry of Sacrifice. She was also on the cover of the first album. You can see the effect of a time paradox in action, as the album is centered around time traveling and the whole sci-fi atmosphere is well depicted in Szofia’s great work here, full of small details… We love what she did for us!

Your live shows are known for their futuristic visuals, lasers and smoke effects. How important is the visual side of Crystal Throne?

Very important! As much as possible, we want to give a great spectacle to the audience. For us, just playing and standing there is really not enough. If you come to see us, expect a full sonic AND VISUAL experience!

If “Chantry of Sacrifice” became a movie, who would you love to direct it?

Oh… Great question! Maybe Denis Villeneuve who did Blade Runner 2049 but that’s a bit unrealistic, haha!

What does power/progressive heavy metal mean to you today?

The freedom to write intricate yet very emotional songs without limitations on our creativity. Obviously the powerful, epic delivery of heavy metal and some darker, moodier elements, dynamics and some virtuosity stuck between catchier big choruses. At least that is how WE do it.

How difficult is it for a power/progressive metal band to stand out in today’s music scene?

It’s not necessarily the style that makes you stick out, but how intensely you deliver it, how good your songs truly are. Yet at the same time, metal is always a niche thing anyway. Especially for us in a country like France, so it is an actual challenge but that’s the music we feel in our hearts so…

Is there a dream festival or tour that you would love to be part of?

Oh yeah, many actually! Any of the big names such as Wacken, Alcatraz, Graspop, etc. but also for example opening for a band like Savatage, Queensrÿche or even Saxon… Hey who knows what the future holds! Haha!

If you could collaborate with any musician, living or dead, who would it be and why?

So many… John Sykes, Chuck Schuldiner, Uli John Roth, Midnight from Crimson Glory, Ann Wilson, Rusty Cooley, Simon Phillips, Steve DiGiorgio, Jeff Loomis, Michael Romeo, Akira Takasaki, Andy Laroque, Jeff Waters and many more!

Together, the lineup takes DRAGONFORCE’s signature sound into new territory while continuing to build on the elements that have made the band a major force in metal for almost three decades.

“Dragonforce” also looks back to the band’s formative years, promising the high energy, breakneck speed, massive melodies and triumphant hooks that fans have come to expect. At the same time, DRAGONFORCE are exploring new sides of their musicianship and songwriting, delivering their trademark sound in ways they have never attempted before.

The result is set to be another bold step forward for one of extreme power metal’s most distinctive and enduring bands.

The “Dragonforce” era officially kicks off with the release of the new single “Hunger Of The Beast”, accompanied by a high-energy, hard-hitting live performance video. Written specifically to showcase the contrasting strengths and powerful vocal ranges of Alissa White-Gluz and Alessio Garavello, the track offers the first preview of the upcoming album. Alongside their new music arriving this fall, DRAGONFORCE are also preparing to embark on their biggest North American tour in more than 20 years. The trek will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their landmark 2006 album “Inhuman Rampage”, the record that gave the world the platinum-selling global hit “Through The Fire And Flames” and spent 23 consecutive weeks on the Billboard 200.

Alissa White-Gluz will be joined on vocals both on the new album and on stage by Alessio Garavello, a longtime friend and collaborator of DRAGONFORCE who has been connected with the band for 25 years. Garavello takes over male vocal duties from former lead singer Marc Hudson, who is temporarily stepping away from DRAGONFORCE-related musical activities while dealing with an ongoing tinnitus issue.

The performance includes classics such as “Can’t Get Enough”, “Feel Like Makin’ Love”, “Rock ’n’ Roll Fantasy”, “Shooting Star”, “Ready for Love”, “Run With the Pack”, “Burnin’ Sky” and “Bad Company”.
“Both the fans and the band were in great form that night in London. The rapport with the audience was deeply felt, and they sang their hearts out. Thinking back to that evening in retrospect, Mick’s song ‘Ready for Love’ was particularly moving, singing ‘Walking down this rocky road wondering where my life is leading’; little did we know that Mick would suffer a stroke just four days after this concert.” – Paul Rodgers

Nearly a decade after that night, the complete concert is now being released for the first time. What began as another major Bad Company performance has taken on deeper significance in the years since, preserving Ralphs’ unmistakable guitar work alongside Rodgers’ iconic voice and Kirke’s powerhouse rhythm in one of the band’s final defining performances together.
“When Bad Company last played in London, it was at the O2 Arena. We had enjoyed a great tour of England, and it would culminate in this final show. We were all in good spirits. Paul performed brilliantly every night, and Mick was playing with his usual taste and panache… It was the last time I ever played with Mick…had I known that at the time, I would have hugged him a little tighter and a little longer.” – Simon Kirke
The evening culminated in an encore performance of the acoustic classic “Seagull,” bringing the concert to an intimate close that now serves as a poignant final chapter to Ralphs’ live history with Bad Company.

The blue-colored vinyl edition, presented in a double-vinyl gatefold, and CD feature previously unseen photographs from the O2 Arena concert, a reproduction of the original set list, and liner notes from Paul Rodgers and Simon Kirke, who reflect on the performance, their memories of Mick Ralphs, and Bad Company’s enduring legacy. A National Album Day colored vinyl pressing will also be part of the release campaign.
Formed around the unmistakable songwriting and chemistry of Rodgers and Ralphs, with Kirke on drums and original bassist Boz Burrell, Bad Company became one of the defining rock bands of the 1970s, building a catalog whose songs have remained fixtures of rock radio and live music for generations. Live in London captures that legacy onstage: direct, powerful, and unmistakably Bad Company.
