TERROR, DYING WISH, EDEN DEMISE – ARCH CLUB, ATHENS, GREECE – 08/04/2024

by MythofRock

Terror announced their return to Athens after so many years and I’m sure the whole hardcore community in Greece was counting down the days until last Monday. They are definitely one of the most known hardcore bands of our times and that’s totally fair, considering the energy they put out in the world through their music and their concerts, of course.

This time Terror have chosen the emerging band Dying Wish from Oregon for their tour and we have to say that this was an amazing introduction to the Greek audience.

The night started with a delay from our very well known Eden Demise, the Athenian band had their fans on their side once again though. They were very energetic and motivated and seems like the whole venue could feel that. Not even the technical problems they faced had the power to stop the enthusiastic crowd.

And then, Dying Wish came up on stage and, I’m pretty sure that many people will agree with me, they were the biggest surprise of the night. Even though their performance didn’t last as long as we wanted, they could go on for days if they had enough material. Emma Boster was unstoppable and they definitely spread the fire to every single one of us. At the end of their time on stage they thanked the attendees and they gave us a promise of coming back soon. I hope they are the kind of people that keep their promises, because we would love to see them again.

After a quick soundcheck, the time we all waited for had finally come. Terror were there to knock down the stage, with the crowd’s help of course. Vogel was calling the people up on stage and he talked about the importance of it, as well as for the equality and inclusiveness that should characterize it. Maybe the atmosphere was suffocating, but that didn’t stop anyone. They played songs from all their discography and their energy was phenomenal. Terror made clear what hardcore really is about. Without encore, no fuss at all, the band closed this amazing night with songs like “Keep Your Mouth Shut” and “Keepers Of The Faith”.
