GEEZER BUTLER: HONORED ON BIRMINGHAM’s “WALK OF STARS”

by MythofRock

Broad Street Walk Of Stars is a walk of fame-style institution, installed on the pavement of Broad Street in Birmingham, England. Distinguished people from Birmingham are honored there with a star. Until now, Ozzy Osbourne and Tony Iommi have been honored, but also artists like Roy Wood and ELO’s Jeff Lynne. Next month a star on the Birmingham Walk of Star will be given to Geezer Butler, legendary bassist of Black Sabbath, during the half-time break in the Aston Villa vs. Burton Albion match on February 3. This date is significant for Black Sabbath, since that day 50 years ago they gave their first show together in Birmingham (their hometown) and 12 years ago they played their last-ever show in the city.
